In our shop you will find quite a few things different than you might at a lot of other places. To start, we are not about ‘fast fashion’. Instead, we want to present high quality and durable goods whether you purchase just one piece or many.
There is a modest mark up on our products. Rest assured, it’s because of our commitment to the following ideals.
Fair Trade
Before we put our logos and artwork on a piece of clothing, we make an effort to source it through fair trade. We don’t want to support sub-par or slave-labor practices on other shores just like we wouldn’t support those types of conditions in our own family and community.
Living Wage
Closely associated with fair trade is a living wage. For our sources that originate in developed nations, we endeavor to buy from producers and distributors that pay no less than living wages to their lowest paid employees or as close to a living wage as possible.
Environmentally Conscious and Sustainable
We also strive to use products that employ environmentally sustainable practices throughout the production cycle. This includes minimizing plastics especially in packaging, water reduction and preservation, less-is-more practices, recycled materials, etc.
Minority Owned
Yes, this business is Black owned. This is particularly important not only because of the current socioeconomic time we find ourselves in, but also since the prominent music styles we create and present on this imprint were born in Black culture.
As a very important corollary is our affirmation of the LGBTQ+ community. Prejudice, racism, and bigotry have no home here at mGrooves Music.
